The National Climate Change Steering Committee (NCCSC) is Tanzania’s primary high-level platform for climate policy coordination, providing strategic direction for national climate action. The Committee advises the government on mitigation and adaptation, emerging climate issues, and necessary policy and legislation adjustments. It monitors the implementation and effectiveness of climate interventions and promotes coordinated action across sectors and institutions. The NCCSC works alongside the National Climate Change Technical Committee (NCCTC), which provides technical advice and further supports coordinated action. The semi-autonomous region of Zanzibar also has its own steering and technical committees.
